Living and working in Thailand as an expatriate or executive offers an exciting lifestyle, blending vibrant metropolitan energy with scenic weekend escapes. However, navigating Bangkok’s dense traffic, seasonal monsoon rains, and extended cross-country road trips requires a vehicle that doesn’t compromise. You need executive elegance, spacious family comfort, advanced eco-friendly performance, and true road resilience.
If you are an international professional looking for a premium SUV for expats in Bangkok, discover why the TANK 500 Hybrid has become the vehicle of choice across the expatriate community—and why GWM Amorn Ratchada is your premier partner for an effortless buying journey.
Executive Road Presence with Imposing Full-Size Proportions

- Grand Dimensions: Measuring an impressive 5,078 mm in length, 1,934 mm in width, and 1,905 mm in height with a generous 2,850 mm wheelbase, the TANK 500 commands respect on every road.
- Refined Exterior Detailing: An assertive chrome front grille, intelligent LED headlights with automatic high-low beam, electric deployable side steps, and 20-inch alloy wheels deliver a balanced blend of modern luxury and robust stature.
- Panoramic Sunroof: A large electric panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, elevating the premium ambiance for all occupants.
A First-Class Cabin: Your Personal Sanctuary from Bangkok Traffic
Anyone familiar with Bangkok knows that traffic is part of daily life. The interior of the TANK 500 HEV is engineered to turn congested commutes into relaxing downtime.
- Nappa Leather & Multi-Function Massage Seats: Sink into supple, ergonomic Nappa leather seats. The 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat features memory settings, lumbar support, and a therapeutic massage function.
- VIP Passenger Experience: The front passenger seat includes an integrated “VIP switch” (boss button) accessible from the rear, allowing 2nd-row passengers to effortlessly expand their legroom.
- Pure Air Technology (PM 2.5 Ionizer): Thailand’s seasonal air quality concerns are completely resolved inside the cabin. The TANK 500 comes equipped with an N95 air purification system, PM 2.5 particulate sensor, and negative ion generator, ensuring clean, fresh air for you and your family.
- Acoustic Peace: Acoustic insulated glass and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) block out harsh exterior traffic noise, creating a whisper-quiet mobile office or peaceful family sanctuary.
- True 7-Seater Versatility: Need to travel with family, golf bags, or luggage for a trip to Hua Hin? The three-row layout seats seven adults in comfort, with power-folding 50:50 third-row seats for instant cargo expansion.
Dynamic Hybrid Performance: 350 PS of Effortless Power
Beneath the sculpted hood lies an advanced hybrid powertrain engineered for both city efficiency and high-speed highway cruising.
The system combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) producing 244 PS (180 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, paired with a powerful electric motor generating 106 PS (78 kW) and 268 Nm.
Together, they deliver an exhilarating combined system output of 350 PS and 648 Nm of torque, managed through a state-of-the-art 9-speed Hybrid Automatic Transmission (9HAT).
- Smooth City Gliding: At lower speeds around downtown Bangkok, the electric motor provides instant, silent responsiveness and remarkable fuel economy.
- Confident Highway Overtaking: On inter-city expressways to Pattaya or Chiang Mai, the combined power unleashes effortless overtaking without the range anxiety of purely electric vehicles.
Built for Thailand’s Diverse Terrains and Monsoon Weather
From paved highways to unpaved countryside trails, the TANK 500 HEV is engineered with authentic all-terrain capability.
- Monsoon-Ready Water Wading: Sudden urban flash floods and heavy downpours are common during Thailand’s rainy season. With a class-leading 224 mm ground clearance and an outstanding wading depth of up to 800 mm, the TANK 500 navigates flooded streets with total peace of mind.
- Intelligent 4WD System: Featuring dual-speed 4WD, multiple driving modes (Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock, and Expert), along with front and rear electronic differential locks.
- Transparent Chassis & Tank Turn: Narrow Bangkok sois (alleys) and tight parking spaces are easily handled thanks to a 360-degree camera with transparent underbody view and “Tank Turn” technology, which significantly tightens your turning radius.
Cutting-Edge Connectivity & Level 2+ Autonomous Safety
Safety and smart connectivity are paramount when choosing the best family SUV in Thailand.
- Digital Cockpit: Features a crisp 14.6-inch multimedia touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and a full-color Head-Up Display (HUD) projecting vital data onto the windshield.
- Seamless Smartphone Integration: Enjoy wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and an audiophile-grade Infinity 12-speaker sound system.
- Intelligent ADAS Suite: Equipped with Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEBI), Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with braking, and Wisdom Dodge System (WDS) to safely steer clear of large transport trucks on highways.
